I seem to have this old memory of reading somewhere that orange peel can be added to the soil of plants for some reason. i cant remember, i googled but im not getting very direct answers (also im between classes so i dont have that much time to search...)
anyone ever heard/know/do this?
i dont eat oranges at all.. lol. but i eat tangerines on the daily (pretty similar right?). should i throw the peel away or into my plants soil?
ps: what about peels fromdifferent fruits?

Use orange peels to get rid of aphids. Aphids love them but orange peels don't love aphids. Orange peels kill aphids. Simply put the orange peels around the effected areas. For example, if you have roses, tear the peel slightly, not all the way through, and attach the peel to a stem near the infected area using the tear. In a matter of hours the aphids are gone.

It also says on google it makes the soil acidic so worms don't like it...

"Aphids are small soft-bodied insects. They are one of the most common pest groups of ornamental plants"

I don't know if this applies to the flies or not.

aphids suck the juices of the plant out. really does a number on the cell wall of the plant and grows funny if not treated. theres a lot of ways to control them, natural pesticides, praying mantis, ladybug or those lady bugs that aren't actually ladybugs but invasive species in america. (they look like ladybugs though) the coolest thing i've seen is when ants farm aphids. anyone seen this? the ants will harvest the sugar from the aphids after they have been feeding on a plant. its kinda cool.
