pins, where are you?

I am a firast time grower. Following the MMGG tech and I have come as far as the birthed cak stage. They are well covered with white fluffy mycillium and I want them to pin becuase I know some people gowing to the snow who want like half an ounce. And I see no reason my 6 cakes and 4 others (that got broken so i crumbled them and put them into ex-cottage cheese containers) cannot do this growing feat. I am growing PF Hawaiians in a styrofoam cooler with a fish tank heater for heating and an Ultrasonic humidifier. It is about 78 degrees in my terrerium at all time.

The cakes are covered in mycillium and are getting these wierd little hairs that are growing off the cakes. Not contams, just an extantion of the mycil. I would think these to be pins, except for the fact that they have no color, it makes me sad. Are they the first step? Please help me!

If anyone has any kind of diagram or something like it please post it in the reply. Or any advice on what to change. I want my first experience growing shrooms to be a good one. I tryed growing plain etible mushrooms out of these wierd brick things and i never got a single one. Help me!

I created the cakes X-mas eve, and some i birthed the 12 of this month and the last one i birthed yesturday. I just went with how well they looked.

weird little hairs sound like cobweb. check out the contam forum for pics, see if this is what yours looks like.

It'll do the hairs thing somtimes. It's only been six days so far. Can take 3 weeks.
