Birthing Jars
    #501839 - 12/26/01 08:58 PM (22 years, 10 months ago)

I was wondering what is the best time to birth colonizing jars? Two of my 12 jars are completely colonized but there is no pinning occuring yet. Should I wait until pinning occurs or just birth them now. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Peace

The best suggestions regarding birthing are as followed:

1. Wait till shrooms start growing, then carefully remove the cake from the jar..

2. Wait an extra week after the cake is colonized. This is to make sure the cake is completely colonized inside.

Of course, I've just yanked my cakes out when they look completely colonized without waiting an extra day. They did alright. Use your discretion I guess...
