Re: Please help me with my Calculus homework! [Re: phalloidin]

yes, it is a hyperbolic equation, and that is the answer by definition, I just don't know how the fuck to get TO that answer and show how I did it...

Actually, now that I think of it, I don't think I'll have to show my work on the test... so maybe I should just study up on the definitions before hand...

Thanks commie!

i honestly just learned about vectors last week in my physics class... which is wierd because everyone else already had learned about them! I felt cheated by my highschool education...

I couldn't tell you the first thing about orthogonal vectors...

I wouldn't have had any problems with my question if it didn't ask for me to take the inverse of y=sinh(2x) in implicit form and then "take the derivative in EXPLICIT form in terms of x".

the going from implicit to explicit is what fucked me up....

Okay, multiply the whole equation by 1/2. You get:
(e^g - e^-g)/2 = x

Now, if sinh(g) = (e^g - e^-g)/2 and g = 2y...

then you get sinh(2y)= x

So you get x = 1/2(arcsin(x) as your final answer.

I thought the whole point of calculus was to make people feel inferior when they realized they couldn't learn it.
