Do you have trouble starting your homework?

I can never seem to just sit down and do it! Especially when it is a big assignment, I procrastinate way too much. I will set a time, then it gets pushed back and back until I am up @ 3am with class in 5 hours. Right now I have a final test over 3 chapters, and don't know hardly any of it. The test is tomorrow morning and I have yet to study.....so frustrating. End rant/

I feel for you man. Final exam tomorrow and I came down with the flu past 3 days or so. Couldn't start studying till just now...its comprehensive and I'm screwed. I try and keep it all in perspective by thinking about how blindingly tore up I can get tomorrow night.

I swear, my brain doesn't function unless its the night before. I've tried on many occasions to do big projects a few nights before, but it just never works because in the back of my mind i know I don't have to be doing it right then and now.

dude i was in the same situation last night, i had a philosophy final this morning and i was up all night doing the readings... i didnt start studyign till like 1230. It was a pretty lame haha but i guess im to blame for it... i can never get myself to sit down and do something and when i do its for like 5 minutes, and when i actually start to get shit done i feel good about myself because i start getting stuff done then i get side tracked amidst the good feelings and go get something to eat, or play guitar...

When you're a programmer, it can be rough starting out with an empty editor window.
What helps me is taking a bunch of code that might have something in common with what I'm about to write and make changes to that, regardless of whether it would have been quicker to start from scratch.
Once you get started on something, it's easier to keep going.

YES! YES I do have that trouble. I resist it like I'm being marched off to the gallows. I also have this problem with doing homework after 9pm. I never do homework late at night. I'd rather write a shit test than do that.
Including Kindergarten, I am in my twentieth (and final) year of school and I've never developed the ability to get on top of my schoolwork. I sabotage myself to quell my and others' expectations.
