Okay listen up YOU ALL NEED CB RADIOS. let me tell you why

Okay im sure that there is someone out there like me that drives the interstates all the time for long distances, and who likes to speed.

SO i bought a CB the other day, drove from chicago to arizona, And i kept my cb channel on 19, the trucker channel. Anyways these truckers are on top of their shit.

I knew about every speed trap atleast 10 miles before i passed it. For a grand total of 8 speed traps from here to AZ.

also these truckers are chatty, the moment someone pulls off of the road, or blows out a tire, they broadcast it, and if youre listening youll hear it.

The nice thing is that you hear from people that are going west while youre going east, hell they can tell you what the next 100 miles are like!, weather, traffic, construction, hell they have even g iven me directions around accident backups!


The range on full legal power CB is about 5 miles in each direction on flat land. But some of these truckers have these crazy zmplifiers and you can hear them from up to 20 miles away.


so in conclusion.....

Get a C.B. Radio its fun shit.

All in all its going to cost you about 80-100 for a good CB with the noaa weather forecasts, and another 40 for the antenna.

well worth it considering most speeding tickeets are about that much.


and one more thing i was also using my radar detector, which would have gotten me nailed on 6 of the 8 traps that i heard about over the radio.

Dude, you're 20 years behind the times here :lol:

Seriously though, I've had a handheld CB(big as Shaq's show) since I was a kid.  That got me started, and I've had one ever since.

Another nice piece of equipment to have is a scanner.

Don't assume that the cops don't frequent the same channels and move speed traps to confuse the guys on the radio and bust them anyways

CBs are usually at dispatch unless your in Hazard county.

any recommendations on portable scanners? I want something to help pick up the digital ones too. I want to know what the piggies are up to.

really though, i was talking to the state tropper that jumped my car this morning, he knows that truckers talk to eachother and im sure that all of them do. but the fact is most counties dont even monitor channel 9 the emergency cb channel. and several times i heard about a speed trap 40 miles ahead of it and they were always in the same place.

Also on the off chance the cops do move, the truckers are on it and give updates every mile on where the " bear " is at. and considering that you have a 5 mile range youll hear about where they are at well before they are around you.

my cb came with a mike, works good, and has a channel up and channel down switch on it.

That would be a bitch. I've only had a scanner for the past year. My next door neighbor used to keep me updated. She used to live by that fucking thing I swear. She's about 46 or 47 spends her time railing powder, drinking, smoking bud, and listening to her scanner all day long when she's not working. After I stopped talking to her regularly I had to get my own. :lol:
