Got Rice?

I loves me some egg rools but these were diferent.. Somehow I must have misread the package that was all in chineese and got some sort of tortilla.

Anyway the filling is cooked chicken with asian veggies and some soy.


I deep fryed these and the skins puffed up just like a chimmichanga. Lucky I had Kim Chi, rice, Noodles and more Chicken Sausage stuff.


I bought the noodles, Kim Chi and "Chicken Roll" at a Ranch 99 Market in the valley. The place was PACKED and you couldnt move around anywhere. the "chicken roll" was like a big chicken meatloaf with all sorts of veggies, it was rolled in some sort of wrap and baked.. Real good.

ooh the 99 ranch market...brings back memories. i used to hate going to asian markets with my mom (she dragged me) cause of the smell of the place. i just couldn't stand the smell of fresh crab and seafood...

the wraps you got...i think they might be fresh eggroll wrappings. basically do you soak them in water, were they a bit thin and see throughish? if so, they're rice wrappers, which you just soak in water and use afterwards. sort of a soft wrapper...when you tug on it it's sort of rubbery?

Yah the smell of the 99 market can be pretty bad, especially when they are cooking up stuff all over the store.. 

But they have all sorts of cool stuff and I could spend an hour just walking up and down the isles.  Well I have to because theyre always sooo crowded you have to walk slow like a turtle.   
Actually I raced a turtle down the seafood counter and he beat me. :smirk:

Anyway.  These are the skins I bought.  They are uncooked egg roll tortillas.    Maby its the uncooked part that makes them blister that way?
