I didn't open the manual, but there is no way you would need a minidisc recorder. These things have been around for ages. It is probably referring to the type of tape needed.

What exactly are you looking to record?

you dont need it, it just has the output to do it to another cassate recorder or Minidisc to mixdown.

It only costs $50 more than the one you got. And it'll sound a lot cleaner. And you can just burn the songs onto CD's on your computer.

I have a tascam interface. I recommend cubase studio edition...a recording software. All you do is go into your computer through the USB port..into cubase. That simple. You'll only have four tracks to play with...but its definitely great for over tracking (recording serious...for CD purposes).

PM me if you have any questions.

If your computer has a CD burner, thats all you need. Well, and a recording software to record onto. If your doing midi...not audio, which is your basic instruments...thats all you need.

What I have is a mixer with all the instruments going into that. Then from there into the tascam interface, then into the cubase program via USB port. Then in cubase you can mix/edit/do what ever you want with your tracks. Its actually very simple and great sound quality, if you know how to mix/record.

See for yourself (I was very drunk when recording this mind you)

EDIT!!!

I just clicked on your link and noticed your talking about a TAPE recorder...not a tascam INTERFACE.

Oops, and sorry for getting your hopes up.

MD = minidisc recorder. Try a music store :smirk:

You're still using tapes man?!?!?!?!?!?! The only thing that is good for is recording shit while you are fucking around to listen to later... but who even owns a tape player anymore anyway??? I mean shit... CDs are practically out of date now.

Ditch that shit and record digital. You have a computer right? You have no excuse.
You don't need that to mixdown. A cheap mixer would get the job done, and a computer, that's all you need. Really, all you NEED is a computer with a decent sound card.
