could you accomplish the same thing by taking a fish tank pump and putting hosing around the FC, and have the hosing have pin holes in it? (i mean this would be in a rubbermaid, but would it work?)

no those pumps don't have enough power, I would need a few for the size of my FC.

An impeller type coolmist will supply enough FAE for a 21 cubic foot upright freezer.


IMPELLER TYPE COOLMIST MOTOR/FAN ASSEMBLY







While not hepa filtered, they are inexpensive, easy to adapt & very effective. You can run a free standing Honeywell type hepa (pictured above - $7 for both @ thrift store) in the room to clean up the coolmists air supply.

You can, with a little crafty ingenuity, alter a free standing hepa as pictured above, with a few feet of thin aluminum flashing material, tin snips & sheet metal screws to vent unobstructed into a 2 - 4 - or 4 inch PVC pipe, which you can route into anything. Which will effectively filter FAE into a 10X10X12 foot room.

I think you had mention that you got a "dead" one, from a repair place or something. PVC pipes is a great idea...

If you have the means to haul/move one & room for it.

Just grab the phone book, look up appliance & refrigeration repair places, in you local.

Then start calling them.

Explain you are looking for a DEAD upright refrigerator.

Or better yet UPRIGHT FREEZER to store things in.

Most places will give you ONE FREE.

Otherwise, they have to pay to have them hauled away.

Even offer a 5th of whiskey or $10 bucks for one.
That is still one hell of a deal, for a FC / Incubator of that size & quality.
