Spore Syringes
    #513582 - 01/07/02 06:56 PM (23 years, 5 months ago)

Hello,
We have recieved some spor syringes recently, and we made 8 jars and some of the jars are starting to grow. But we recently bought three more syringes and they each ahve a little black thing floating in them. Looks almost like a black fuzz and is very very small. We were wondering if they are bad spores, or if it is ok if we still use them on the jars we have ready. Please give us your input, because although our first one was fine we are wondering if the other three are ok. If it helps, we got the spores from peruvian journey. Thanks.

I got my first syringes from peruvian journey also, they were accually very dark. But as too fuzzy spores... I wouldnt take any chances, send them back. Are you sure they are fuzzy? sometimes the spores clump together, try shaking the syringe a bit.

Thats most likely just some of the spores which have gotten stuck together. That is normal. Just make sure you shake it before inoculation. Spores are microscopic, and when they go into the water, they sometimes bond together, creating black dots in the sryinge.
