ill at christmas
    #5105655 -

Does anyone else always seem to get some sort of illness at christmas.
Ive had a really bad stomach bug this year that im just recovering from now, ive had no appetite for days and im surrounded by lots of nice food,, some of this now makes me feel sick cos i didnt like the way it smelt when i was feeling ill.
But its not just this year, its nearly all of them, the last 3 years definately, only last year it was a nasty cold that came on boxing day.
i wonder,, 365 days in a year, what are the chances of being ill on the same days, year after year.
Id think i was playin a jedi mind trick on myself if i hadn't felt so ill.

Recurring on the same date annually?

Could it be something that had "long term/seemingly permanent" emotional damage from your days of youth?

I have had some pretty sucky christmas times.. This year wasn't that bad, I had fun on christmas eve anyways. A little too much fun.. Was invited to a party, I ended up passing out from drinking way too much. I finished off a case of beer in a short amount of time.
Then I woke up a few hours after passing out (somewhere around 1am or so) and couldn't get back to sleep.
I was awake the rest of the night from a bad hangover that wouldn't let me sleep.

By the time x-mas morning had come, I was dead tired and passed out again. Woke up around 10pm and slept through christmas day! lol.
I was stuck by myself at home - everyone had left me there lol.. it sucked. I spent christmas being a drunk/hungover bum.

Not always on the same date but usually around the same time.
Its like i expect it now, and those few days before christmas im waiting to contract something. alot of people have had this bug in the weeks leading up to christmas, and ive been trying to dodge it, but then a mate phones me up out of the blue and asks me if i fancy a drinks sesh with abit of sniff, carn't say no to that so i have my night out and wake up feeling abit dodgy (bad enough to sack off my driving lesson [still cost me 20 quid]). The day after that i wake up at deaths door, with a tonne of christmas shopping to do.
Just seems odd that im waiting for it, then it happens at the worst time possible, year after year..

You sounded abit eager on christmas eve eris, ive done that. Its like hey, finally christmas, lets get totally trashed and its ok cos its christmas.
Tis why i love this season so.
you can drag yourself out of bed on christmas day nightime after a session like that, and crack open another beer.
Good stuff.

If it's any comfort...

I had pretty bad sinus problems on Christmas from allergies. And I went running on Christmas evening at around 10pm and tripped and fell on a side walk. Had to walk a mile home as a bloody mess.
