Talking Heads Brick
    #5075214 -

Wow. This actually gets me horny. This is one of the coolest things ever. Talking Heads is my favorite band of all time. I don't really need this because I don't listen to many physical CD's...but damn I want it.

Talking Heads Brick

The first complete artist catalog released on DualDisc. This specially packed boxed set contains all eight of Talking Heads' studio albums, expanded and remastered as two-sided DualDiscs featuring audiophile DVD-A sound, rare and previously unreleased material, and video tracks. Packaging includes an outer white molded plastic box with raised song titles, housing eight individually packaged white jewel cases, each containing liner notes, rare photos, and song-inspired art pieces.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

David Byrne is one of very few persons in this world I would consider a "role model" to me.

Ha. That's the worst song of his solo career, too, but I still like it. I don't dislike any music I've ever heard that he has had a hand in making. The same goes, almost, for David Bowie.

But David Byrne..he's the prism I strive to be.

First of all - do you like, or listen to, Talking Heads?

Well the album Look into the Eyeball is good but I love his mellower more recent album, Grown Backwards. If you want to DL particular songs I'd suggest:

Dance on Vaseline
Glass, Concrete & Stone
Tiny Apocalypse - one of the best songs EVAR, I will upload it in a sec
Un di felice, eterea
The Great Intoxication
Walk on the Water

i've never gotten into David Bryne the same way that i have the Talking Heads. I've got quite a bit of his music, and whenever it pops on shuffle, i usually don't change it - but almost never seek it out (whereas the talking heads are a daily playlist item for me)

Yeah i feel you on that. I think you'd love him live. He does a lot of Talking Heads songs, reworked to sound like his latest sonic obsessions.

But don't watch that damn live DVD of his, the solo one.

Have you seen Stop Making Sense?

Remain in Light
Speaking in Tongues
Fear of Music

And rent the movie Stop Making Sense...get really high and watch it...that's the way I make everyone fall in love with Talking Heads.

Fucking hell...it's not a music DVD! it is NOT!

It is a film! Directed by reknowned film director Jonathan Demme, written by David Byrne. And it happens to be that the story of the movie is a Talking Heads concert. But it is NOT a "music DVD." FOR SERIOUS! And if you DO plan on coming to my neck of the woods anytime soon...then please...wait till you meet me to see it. Because I would shove paper down your throat and strap you into a chair for one of the best viewing experiences of your fucking life.
