I don't think you have to be running a serious operation to use a shredder for poo. if you are only doing say 10 lbs it would take minutes compared to hour/s by hand. plus you achieve a nice even texture which allows for easy colonization.
Nice buy, it should work well for you FGL.
I picked my 2 1/2 hp up on ebay for $70 shipped...

It didn't take me hours to do my Horse poo one a screen. The screen I have is about 3 feet wide by 5 feet long. I would just pour out a big pile on the end of it and then use a large garden hoe to just push the pile down the screen and let it fall onto the tarp below. Would estimate I did about 20lbs in under an hour.

But of course it is harder work then using a shredder.

hey musher_420, the screen tek sounds good, but after doing the poo by hands I just wanted to find the easiest and less time comsume way of shredding it :runaway:... I forgot to say that doing it by hand also make me breath a lot of stuff and belive me it is no funny at all :bongroll: :poop: =

If you pasturize the manure first, dust and compacted turds aren't a problem at all. I can run through 30 gallons of manure in a few hours. In which includes pasturizing, cooling, down to field capacity, spawning and done...

Sounds like you're squared away now with the chipper. Good luck...

That is a good chipper for the purpose you have.

A good trick is to use burlap or grain sacks to catch the h/poo fibers - as they exit the machine.

Use a bungee cord to tie a bag in place over the outlet.

(A bungee cord a heavy elastic cord that stretches & has hooks on the end, to hold cargo down, or hold things togather)

If you still don't understand what a bungee cord is, use "google" photo & many pictures will come up of bungee cords.

You can shred a pick up truck of dry poo, with ease & not much labor.
