Yes, aborts can be eaten.

Yes, you can use a dehydrator. According to agar, it's fine as long as the temperature remains below 115/120 degrees farenheit.

You don't need gloves when picking shrooms, clean hands should be fine, but use gloves if it makes you more comfortable. Make sure you remove all fruitbody material, as it could potentially rot and introduce contaminants if you leave part of a stem attached to the mycelium.
