Sea of Shrooms Question

I've been experimenting with several different substrates and casing TEKs...Lots of success getting my jars to colonize, some growing faster than others...all normal...I tried the Sea of Shrooms TEK with 50/50+ casing mix...the casing grew very fast, so I opted for a variation that suggested removing the casing from it's container and fruiting it as a large cake...It is covered with Hyphael knots and rhyzomorphic outshoots (could be hypha filaments - not sure of the difference)...

Anyway the thing just won't pin...it's been like this for over a week...more like 2 weeks and it just keeps growing mycelium...I can still see the casing mix...but I'm thinking it may be an overlay problem...Temps and humidity are fine...any ideas on how to proceed???

You said temps and humidity are fine, how about air exchange? IMO all three are crucial to proper pinset!

Yeah...I know...I've been fanning them 3-6 times a day...will sometimes take the top off the terrarium to let them breathe for a few mins. too...

75 hits and 1 answer...sorta...

Lets try again...I'm cosidering casing these cakes and forgetting the whole cake idea, but just for knowledge sake...Does anyone have any idea why the cakes would stall when all needs are being met???

Try cold shocking them to 70 or slightly below for a couple of days.

Not trying to be difficult, but I did cold shock them...I'm asking advice because everything has been done by the book...looking for similar experience and solutions...
