I told my freind that it was a theuraputic experience that helped me develop acceptance for myself and she said I was trying to justifying my recreation use of illegal drugs. It really makes me sad when my freinds dismiss some of the most important experiences of my life as being delusional or destructive. I never told her she needed to do it too.

I guess there is no point in stating that people are ignorant and closed-minded on the whole and there is nothing I could ever do to change this. She said I need to get over the fact that nobody gives a shit what I thought my experience was and move on. She is right, but it really makes me hate our society.

If stereotypes is the problem then...play with them! What i mean: If one is labeled as a "drug user",then this stereotype gets in the way of any "public anouncement" of their breakthroughs or whatever else. I dont know you style,your interests,your way of life,but by judging on how she chalked up your experience as "justification of doing drugs" (notice the verb "doing" and its tense!) one could assume that maybe se knows or supposes that you are a frequent user of psychoactives. I think she might have listened more if a "straight edge" person told her the same experience ,lets say originating from a psychiatrists office.

Simply put if i wanted my voice to be heard,wanted or not, i would have to keep an image having nothing to do with "doing" (present continuous is the tense i think,thats important! ) drugs,so i could be heard even to straight edge people...To be frank im not even "smoking" weed and when i speak to people about psychoactives it baffles them a lot that they have never seen me "under the influence",or my stories of how i passed last night or at that party involved substance mentioning.It baffles them that neither any part of my life is associated/reminiscent of any sort of "drug use"...Its a weird path,but in this path the "You are trying to justify drug use" cannot flourish.

Just imagine the look at her face if an acquaintance  being present in the conversation popped in and sayed "But he isnt DOING drugs.So is he trying to justify anything?". And yet,imagine knowing that the axuaintance is right because you may have experienced certain psychoactives but they are not in daily weekly or monthly schedule of any sort....
