Pinning and Fruiting
    #501525 - 12/26/01 11:25 AM (22 years, 8 months ago)

I birthed a few cakes over a week ago...I have tons of pins, but no fruiting yet...My temps. have been hovering in the high 60's to low 70's...I've adjusted the temp and expect no further problems...

Can someone give me a ballpark time-frame for Treasure Coast to go from pinning to mature fruits???

7 days from pins to maturity should be a good expectation. not at 70 degrees though. try to keep it a CONSTANT 75 or so; dropping under 70 really hurts them.

Thanks Beppo...

When you say temps. below 70 really hurt them, do you mean it damages them or just stunts their growth???

sorry. just stunts growth. my 4th flush maztecs pinned to about 1" and almost all aborted when the temp was 70 degrees for 2 days and have not shown any signs of recovery. but again thats 4th flush but ive noticed it to a lesser extent in earlier flushes also.
