Pinning / Fruiting Newbie Question

Ok,

My FOAF birthed one of his jars that was at 100% colonization about 4 days ago. (std PF Tek, Perlite humidifcation) He is not seeing any pinning, other than one lone mushroom growing towards the bottom of the cake, that started out as a tiny dot and has doubled in size about every day so far. It is currently maybe 1/2" long. Is it normal for a single mushroom like this to begin forming before any other pinning is seen?

Sorry if this is a silly question but he's excited that his first grow attempt seems to be goign in the right direction. Thanks guys!

Soon, Boobs, soon your precious little cake will begin to give you pins....oh yes, Boobs, soon...

Next time allow the cake to form several primordia in-vitro (this means allow small pin-heads to form in the jar) before birthing.
