Re: okay... how much do you think that strting cheese, and or umphreys would charge for a show? [Re: Cowgold]

im looking to do it for as cheap as possible.

i really need to see what the bands will cost, everyone else can camp, and ill rent tents for the official things.

i might not even need to pave a road if i can get the easments graded right, and the weather is rain free, and it is the desert...

i dont think that you need mineral rights for a well, and i dont think that its a gold rich area, what else are the mineral rights good for, what happens if someone else has mineral rights on my land???

It would be pretty pricey, I think. I went and saw SCI and it was almost 40 fucking dollars!

Keller was only 20 bucks, though and it was a much better show, imo.

I would say it would probably run you upwards of 15-20 thousand bucks to get a decent fest going, but that is purely speculation at best, on my part.

Throw a fest and we'll be there. You can bet on that!

oil is the main thing i know about as far as the rights but it can include just about anything of industrial use that's found beneath the ground surface.  oil, coal, gold, diamonds, anything really.

the main thing is if anything in the area is ever found the value of your land will rise alot if you own the mineral rights.  Then you can lease the rights and collect royalties.  ( my bad i forget where i am sometimes... sell the land for more than you bought it, hehe)

if someone else owns the mineral rights they can come on your property without your permission and drill for oil or whatever they're after.  ofcourse there are restrictions on how and what they can do to get to the materials but  9 times out of 10 the land owner gets fucked unless they know up front when buying the land (cheaper price).

If there's no minerals in the area then you should be able to get the land with mineral rights just as cheap if it's even seperated in that area.  In high resource areas the land and mineral rights are seperate, if there's never been any minerals found in that area then it probably isn't even broken out seprately.  gotta check it out though...

quite honestly yall can come for free
i just finally found the number of the land salesman that i have been looking for, luterally for years.
anyways i can probly now get the land , 40 acres for under 5 grand!
from there i could throw a small "rave" weekend type of thing, have everyone camp, sound and stages would be cheap as hell, as would the rental tents.

probably do the whole thing for only 8 grand up front, and most of that could be layed on credit.... dangerous thing to try though, the credit.

but getting a few thousand out there for that wouldnt be that hard.

i found a more professional explanation of mineral rights in this buying land manual from Tx A&M.

http://recenter.tamu.edu/pdf/1196.pdf

Mineral rights. Mineral ownership can be important for land buyers, especially when less than half of the minerals
transfer with ownership. Mineral owners dominate surface owners. This means that a mineral owner, or the lessee, can
enter the property to extract the minerals without obtaining permission from the landowner. Thus, if minerals belong to
another person, a landowner has little control over oil and gas drilling. Furthermore, if the current owner has executed
a lease with a producer, that lease remains in force even if the minerals
transfer with the surface.
Mineral rights have been a fixture in the Texas land market for many years and do not doom a sale. However, a potential buyer should not purchase property without inquiring about the possibility
of mineral exploration.
