Growing chamber question?

My friend hads 11 jars that are close to being fully innoculated. He has not yet put together his growing chamber. We have looked for a large clear rubbermaid like tub, but everyhting that we find has a dark, colored lid on it. I would think that a clear top would be essential for getting the mushrooms to grow straight. Would plastic wrap work for a lid? Does anyone have any advice on this? Are there plastic bins with clear tops, or would the plastic wrap work better anyways because it would be airtight? Thanks

I got a huge 55 gal bin w/ plastic top from home depot for $15.Then cut a 12"-12" hole in center of lid and glued plex glass.You could use plastic wrap but i would think it might be kind of a hassle to unwrap and wrap several times a day but thats just me.Home Depot has almost everything you would need for cheap.Hope that helps.Peace

Dont worry about it being see thru, mine is totally opaque and just openning the lid 2-3x a day to fan is more than enough light.
And about straightness, well, they shrivel up when you dry them anyways. And if you're eating them fresh, well, does it really matter? Just chew away :P
