I was just over at my parents house and my brother was sitting there picking through all of their old vynil records(So that he could put a thumb tack through them to make his appartment look cool.

Of course as I walked by I had to be a smartass and say, "You don't even know of half the people you are picking out" his come back was "The outside looks cool though". My dad walked in and said "Alright, Im going to ask 10 questions and whover gets the most right gets to have my whole record collection. I won of course cause my bro knows diddly squat about 60's and 70's music.

Things that I have spotted so far in the collection(These are all orriginal)
Greatfull dead
Jimmy Hendrix
Cream
The beatles
The doors
Willie Nelson
Charlie Daniels
Deep purple
Earth, wind, and fire
Led Zepplin
Pink Floyed
The eagles

And tons more, Im so fucking excited. I don't know if I should display them or not. Im sure some are worth alot.

I like going to garage sales and buying all the good records. Got a mint White Album this past summer for less than $1.

ha nice lil collection u got there...my parents own a disc jockey business that was started back when records were around so they have a TON of records, i picked out a ton for me..like around 500 few years ago and i still listen to them

You lucky, lucky bastard. Wish my parents' old record collection was like that. They had a few Marley, a Pink Floyd, some Earth Wind Fire and Fleetwood Mac. The rest were all Xmas music and CRAP!

The good thing is I have barley even tapped into it yet. Im going to get the whole collection next weekend. It has to be ATLEAST 1,500.

Very nice! I still love vinyl. Alot of my older albums have scratches on them but I am recovering the songs through digital processes. I can remove some scratches and burn them to CD.
I have a pretty good collection of about 300 albums collected through the years.
Black Sabbath
Yes
Deep Purple
Pink Floyd
Zepplin
Foghat
Styx
Supertramp
Alice Cooper

And the list goes on and on....................
The last vinyl album I bought was Aerosmith - Pump. Oh yeh, I have the complete Aerosmith collection up to that album!!!
I will never part with these suckers!!!!!!!! Hang on to them.

Depends on the mood. And the high. I agree it can be hard to listen to at times, but man it can get to ya at the same time. Something like Dream Theater.

The records would either have to be in perfect condition or have some rare quality to them in order for them to be worth much.  They're extremely cool, in my opinion though.  Good find!  :cool:

BTW, don't mess them up by using thumb tacks through the cover.  I'm sure there's a way to put albums on the wall without damaging them.  Here's a picture of the three records I keep proped up above my closet door.

My bro was planning to put tumbthacks in them.  I said it was slaughter not to buy some cheap album hangings.  I love them.I just went through a couple and founds some foghat and steppenwolf  :thumbup: :thumbup:
