CRAZY HOLLOW SHROOMS!

I'm growing EQ's and after the first flush of normal good looking shrooms I started getting these HUGE gnarly, warped mutants, (and I wasn't tripin :) when Cut in half they were really hollow, the flesh was somewhat more stringy than I'm used to. Why would this happen?????? I was thinking that maybe since I started airing them once a day after the first flush (before this I was airing twice a day) this may have been the cause, but now I've started airing twice daily and the same 'problem' occurs!! What could it be???

do you use perlite? if so, do you put your cakes(if you use cakes not casings) directly on the perlite?

That's happening to me too. I think that if you don't do air exchange shrooms grow much slower and bigger!!! When I first put a cake in a terarium I did not airexchanged at all!!!! And had some big potent ones!! Hehee..
-------------------- I see trees of green, psylocibe mushrooms too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world

"do you use perlite? if so, do you put your cakes(if you use cakes not casings) directly on the perlite? " I do (use cakes and place them on the perlite). Would this be the reason?........It's interesting though, coz although they are bigger in volume than normal shrooms and seem to contain more water, when they are dried on average I get a better yield with the crazy shrooms!! Anyway, thanx a lot MycoGlow, you've helped a lot!
