Heres a couple Cyan hauls from the past week or so

... i havn't gotten around to posting my pictures for awhile. Anyway, here ye go!



These ones i picked about half an hour ago from my garden.. score!


This is my first pick of the season.. the camera died after the first pic so this is the only one i got...

Looking at the first picture, they do not look like cyans to me. Gills are off, the stems dont look white at all and i cant see any bruising. The following picture look more promising. Perhaps take a photo of the caps aswell? Not sure about the last.

Never eat unidentified mushrooms, especially ones that you think are cyans. Too many deadly lookalikes.  :crazy:

I would say the ones in the first pic are not cyans. Like notorious and quank said, the gills are yellow, and the stems aren't white.

The second pic looks like cyans, but take a spore print to be sure.

The ones in the last pic look pretty orange, but most of the cyans that come out of my yard look that way. I would spore print all of the batches.

The mushrooms in all three of those pics are P. Cyanescens.

The first pic looks different simply because all the mushrooms are lying cap down...but i can still easily tell that they are Cyans. For starts, the gallerina look-a-likes don't have nice thick white stems...the mushrooms in that pic do though. and you can see a bit of bruising, at the base of those stems. i think that photo just has crappy lighting and composition which throws people off, that's all  :tongue:

Yeah i was going to say the lighting could be a factor in the cyans looking a different color but from my perspective, they arent cyans judging solely from that photo.

Thanks Soularize. Yeah, all of them are definatley Cyans... if they weren't, i probably wouldn't be talking about them right now. The lighting is terrible in the first pic.

The mushrooms in that first picture "are" cyans. Cyanescens gills are tan colored when young, they get more purple looking when they mature. Plus, if you look at where they were harvested there is purple bruising.
