cakes too dry?

while casing the cakes seemed pretty dry is that a problem? used quart sized jars took forever to colonize .. is that normal? preciate all the help from yall ..

yea, sometimes it can take up to 6 weeks to colonize. afoaf has cakes right now that are not even halfway colonized after 2 1/2 weeks. Too dry is definately bad. Take notes/ experiment, and in a few times youll get it just right.
