yay, my first pin!... but i need help!

the good news!::
well, i woke up this morning and there she was, standing about 1/2 inches tall, my first cambodian pin standing up from my casing. i'm so excited..almost a month of waiting (11/14 innoculation).. it's a nice light brown color with a cream colored lining and a nice dark brown cap.

the problem!:: the 2 cakes are still not pinning, ~7 days after i birthed them. just lots of white fluffy mycel. growing off of them.

the question!:: should i take both of the jars and make a casing from them? My other casing with only 1 jar of substrate seems to be fruiting already. Maybe I'd have better luck w/ the cakes to just case them w/ some damp verm. and let them grow. OR ... should I continue to let the cakes grow on their own? Just curious if these cambodian's just enjoy a cased environment.

Personally, I'm extremely partial to casings.Casing is the way to go. The yields are so much better adn they are easy to maintain. You can definately case those cakes. However, it has only been 7 days for your cakes. I often get pins on the 8-10days. Sometimes they can take longer. What Iam saying is that there is nothing abnormal about your cake not fruting yet, but personally I would still crumble and case them. Best of luck!!!!! And congratulations!!!
