they hardly do shit for posession under an ounce of weed for personal use, as long as you arent driving..
Compared to Utah, please, I read up on norml... $100 fine at the most. for under an ounce posession.

the best part about this whole thing is that it happened in a major US city. everybody and there dog has heard of denver. i think if it was some little backwoods town it would not have gotten nearly as much publicity. kinda like out of sight is out of mind.

Marijuana is illegalized by federal law.

The states dont have the power to legalize it. If they do the federal government just comes in, bitch slaps them, and tells them to shut the fuck up and prosecute the way they've been ordered to.

Federal > State > Local > You

You're still fucked until the federal government legalizes it. And this country has way too fucking many extremists pushing way too many varied opinions for any of them to rally sufficiently behind a law that would be unpopular anyhow. No legal marijuana in the U.S., ever. Not gonna happen. Just be content with dreaming about it.

marijuana has been decriminalized in a bunch of states for 30 years. Minnesota is one of them.

coda and Hella_Tight are wrong about decriminalization laws, it's written out very simply on www.norml.org, if any reads. It is legal under no circumstances whatsoever.

Decriminalized means that instead of possession being a criminal offense, which would be punished by heavyier fines and jail time, instead possession is a civil offense, which is punished with a lesser fine and no jail time.

I've been a member of NORML for 10+ years and have taken official positions in the past. It's much more important for everyone to know the laws than to pass some token law that changes nothing.
