I really don't think anyone cares to hear your jibberish anymore on this subject. You obviously are out to make a buck instead of add to the knowledge base of the fine art of shrooming. Sure you can grow with very limited equipment but with limited success. Automation of a system will give better results than that of your basic setup everytime imo. Air exchanges are maximized, rH is controlled to a precise level, lighting on/off at regular intervals, and temp fluctuations are not a problem. So either help and answer the persons question or don't say anything at all, especially when you have no clue as to what you are saying.
My system runs almost the same as agars, with the exception of the ultrasonic, it runs 10 minutes an hour.

Stemmer, once again, you present yourself as an uneducated idiot. Do everyone a favour and post somewhere else. Not once have I seen a beneficial contribution from you! You are full of bad advice, negativity and the literacy of an 8 year old.
To the original poster, yes timers are great. I have my coolmist hooked up to one.

I think It'd be beneficial for stemmer to provide us with some photographic evidence to scientifically prove the validity of his claims. Agar has on many occasions shown us the effectiveness of using a timer.

agar said: I use "timers". As my F/C is almost 100% automated.
Lights on/off 12/12 Coolmist 1 hour on, 1 off - 24/7 Ultrasonic humidifier 5 minutes on, each hour the coolmist runs.
It can go 4 or 5 days without attention. Then - only needs water added to the external resorviors.
Matter of fact, once left town & had to stay longer than expected.
Came back to find almost over-mature fruits. Tell me - timers don't help.
I'm in the process of automating a FC... I got a large aquarium given to me for free so that's what I'm using
It didnt have a cover, so I cut one out from coroplast.
I have a ultrasonic fogger for lizard terrariums, which I put in the closed aquarium, and it took 45 mins to fill it up to 95%RH.
Since shrooms require CO2 venting, I was also planning on installing a filtered PVC tube through the lid, that would suck air out from the bottom of the tank with a fan, and another filtered tube at the other end of the tank to let fresh clean air in.
I got two programmable digital appliance timers (20$ ea. at Canadian Tire) set for 3x a day every 8 h or so, 5 mins venting, followed by 45 mins ultrasonic fogging.
Does this sound good?

Jeez!!!! Looks like I started something here. Sorry guys...just needed advice on a timer. I'm sorry, but I don't think I've ever gotten such a bad attitude from anyone on the shroomery. Everyone is normally very nice and helpful. I've been growing for about a year now using tubs/WBS/G2G/casings, etc., with great success, and I had put off doing a "Martha" setup until now and I got the big 60" one. I stopped doing cakes about 2 months into my growing and moved on and I keep learning new things and incorporating them in my grows. As far as spending a lot of money...I maybe spent $100 on the whole thing..and that was with everything being brand new. I could have gotten used for less. I have been reading teks and threads on here for over a year and researched in depth and I think the "Martha" will improve every bit of my grows from air exchange and automating the whole thing and even just plain extra space. I was getting tired of looking at tubs everywhere. Stemmer if you don't use a "Martha" and don't own a timer then you really should not have even posted to my question and your attitude puts your intelligence in question.

You have no reason to be sorry.
Good luck with your Martha. Once you get it automated you will just have to sit back and wait untill harvest and pick like mad. Good Luck!
