Ultrasonic vs. Cool Mist (yet again..)
    #3290375 - 10/28/04 06:44 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Ha, I've been contemplating this problem for a little bit and read a lot of the older posts. Still can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for though, so I'll give it a shot here.

1) If I'm using an ultrasonic humidifier in my setup, will I have to use a coolmist along with it?

2) If no to the first question then will I have to still 'fan out' my terraium every once in awhile (how often?)

3) and Lastly, is it possible to hook up an ultrasonic (and cool mist if needed) to two terraniums?

Thanks for any your guys help in advance!

Its not really ultrasonic vs. coolmist, because best results are when they are used together. Also, both the ultrasonic & coolmist can take care of 2 decent sized terrariums via tube splicing, though I'll be of no help on that subject...

No
Yes, as often as you feel you should (morning noon and night should be the minimum)
Yes, you can hook it up to as many as it can handle.

Hmm ok, I guess I'll just put my cakes and casing into one terranium.

I know an ultrasonic keeps the humidity at the right level but what does the coolmist do?

The coolmist is for air exchange, otherwise the ultrasonic soaks the casings...

Gotcha. So I'm guessing that I wouldn't have to fan if I had a coolmist run beside my ultrasonic, correct?

Thanks for all you help.

you didnt say how big your terrarium is, an ultrasonic would be sufficient air xchange with minimal fanning req in a small terrarium. yet with a bigger terr both is ideal. And no you wouldnt need to fan with a coolmist. shroom on,
