The Spin Is Back, for 90s Music Fans
    #4864245 -

I found some great news at UMVD last week -- we had a copy of what apparently is the new Spin Doctors record in the office (it came out last month, go figure). I was really into PFOK, and I think these guys combine catchy rock tunes with a bluesy jam vide better than most other bands. It helps that they're also excellent musicians.

The new record is called Nice Talking to Me. Although I kinda miss some of the solos and jammy stuff that was on their previous couple of releases, the songwriting is definitely back to top form and Chris' voice sounds great again. The title track and the first single "Can't Kick the Habit" are both great tunes and show off the opposite spectrums of their sound.

I would also recommend joining their community if you're into the blues, because there's some great blues songs (esp. Scotch and Water) that show off the band musicianship a little more than the rock stuff.

Hey, it's good chill music. Keeps me balanced, plus there's some nostalgic value in it for me. I remember listening to them back in 91 as a youth, before being corrupted by everyday life.

Great musicians, too, all of them really. I don't think a lot of people realize that -- well, I don't think a lot of people still know that they're making records.
