UK Psilocybe azurescens *PICS*
    #4845873 -

They're up!

I took these photos about a week ago but half the damn film didn't turn out properly  :mad2:

Habitat is mixed deciduous woodland growing along the sides of a wood chip path.

The paths roughly a mile long so its going to be quite some haul this year!

I transfer the attached colonized wood chips to fresh beds in new locations.

Anno, Loki and many other people do the same thing, it doesn't damage the bed at all.

Hi BiOTeK,

I've "lurked" here for over two years, but this is only my second post. (Thanks for all the interesting reading though!)

My question is the same as Day Tripper's, but I think you maybe answered that on the next post. I would be amazed to see psilocybe azurescens in the UK; should I start looking, or were there "special" circumstances!? Also, I believe it can be tricky to distinguish them from Galerina marginata ; perhaps that wasn't an issue here?

Meanwhile, I'll just have to settle for the semilanceata that are running riot down here.

Excellent and awesome at most. A fine in situ cultivation of the azures. Remember they only produce about three years and yuou have to keep ading woodchips and fertilizers to keep them going after they appear.

Do you mean they only fruit for three years if you keep adding to them, or that they will produce for three years, and any longer requires adding?

I've read that without the relationship it has with the grasses in it's natural habitat it can't produce for more than a few years. So it would have to start from spore again at this point?

You're not like the others. You like the same things I do. Wax paper, boiled football leather... dog breath. We're not hitch-hiking anymore, we're riding!

Yes, there were "special" circumstances   Your chances of finding them in the wild are practically nil.

Psilocybe azurescens look nothing like Galerina marginata to me. I do see how some people could get them mixed up though.
