Muscular... and fat?
    #4838920 -

Hey guys, i got a quick question.

Ive always been into sports and shit but lately have slacked off. I have muscle for sure, but ive got a belly of late. and admittedly its from a large beer consumption (college will do that to ya).

Anyways how do i get rid of this fat, keep the muscle, and do it without spending much, if any money.

What sorta excersizes can i do at home that will help?

LOL ........beer hun ?

That is a complete myth in my thoughts

Big bellies are a collection of crap/food/old steaks/etc in your intestions. But I am no expert. I did get my colon flushed 3 times in the past 4 months and lost 6 inches of my gut. The stuff that came out was amazing.

What can you do without spending cash ? Find a pool and swim everyday you can. Walk fast in the shallow water often. If you can't find a pool then get a bike and work your gut off. Stop eating all dairy, fat and wheat. Eats vegs, fish, fruit etc.......

Warning ............... If you don't get that gut under control by 28 your gonna have it always.

The only way to lose fat is to induce a deficit of calories in your diet. So if you eat less you'll lose fat. Exercise helps you burn more calories to aid in losing fat, but be careful with cardiovascular exercise if you want to keep your muscle. You'll lose muscle if you're not doing anything to maintain it.

You need to convince your body to keep maintaining/building muscle by doing some lifting or else you'll just lose your muscle along with the fat. Lift weights if you got 'em. If you don't have access to weights, do body-weight exercises like pushups and pullups -- they're better than nothing. As for diet do this:

Eat lots of food that's high in protein. Cut out foods that are 90-100% carbs (potatoes, pasta, etc), and especially avoid drinks that are only carbs (beer, soda, sugary fruit drinks) -- these are garbage if you're trying to lose fat. Cut out junk food. As a matter of fact, if you're eating something that doesn't have protein, vitamins, or minerals, you shouldn't be eating it at all.

Don't worry about fat intake -- fat is important to building and maintaining muscle. If you significantly cut fat out of your diet you're just going to convince your body that it needs to hang on to the fat you have, because it's not getting enough from your diet. The most important thing is to cut down on carbohydrates.

L-Glutamine is just what you want.

From:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/glutamine.html

" L-glutamine plays a very important role in protein metabolism, and it appears to be a very important nutrient for body builders. When supplemented, it may help body builders reduce the amount of muscle deterioration that occurs because other tissues that need glutamine will not rob the glutamine stored in the muscle cells."

I'd recommend whey protein and monohydrate as well.

I agree that beer drinking making beer guts is somewhat of a myth. The fat comes when you get drunk and eat like a pig. Or when instead of doing something active you are now sitting around drinking and eating.

Walk or ride a bike instead of driving. Do pushups and situps. Eat healthier. Less junk food and more salad. Less carbs, more protein. Avoid sugar as much as possible(candy, soda, etc.)

im not a physical therapist or anything but then again your question has a pretty common sense answer.

wanna lose your gut? eat fresh, healthy foods and exercise. hike, jog, do sit ups, go swimming, do jumping jacks, play sports.

comeon now.

did you really need me to tell you that?

1. eat well 2. exercise.
