This is where the Teacher leaves the Student to ponder. I can be condescending in a constructive yet provoking way. To tell you what the entheogenic experience is, would be to ruin your experience before you had it.


Look - I'm just asking that the content on this site be at least somewhat peacable to adults and young adults (both those who enjoy crude behavior and those who WOULD BE MAJORLY TURNED OFF BY poodle poop sex

The content of this site, especially the content that has you this riled up, is contained behind what is probably the strongest worded disclaimer possible.

This is why we have TWO SOCIAL FORUMS.

You have no argument, and IMO, all the participants in this thread need to bite their tongue and wait for the backlash.

No need to get that aggressive. I can be condescending to no end, but in this instance I am only giving you back what your sending me. Am I not right in saying that you're attitude is one of sarcasm and mockery? Indeed, these two words amply describe all of you jaded souls in OTD. Many of you seem to have tasted so much vanity and cosmic mockery that you have convinced yourself the only way to bring balance to the SELF-mockery is to release mockery to all others around you.

You make a valid point and one that I agree with. I will add this though: The entheogenic experience is a universal experience - meaning we can all call it one thing because one primary teaching stands out above all others.

Nope. OTD is a release from the braindead idiots which wonder around on the surface of the planet. We choose to speak in mock hate, just like pubbers choose to speak in mock love.

Two sides of the same coin, opposing yes, but still parts of the same thing.

By the way, I mock because you make unfounded claims that no-one here has had an entheogenic experience. If the experience made us all the same and completely understanding of each other, then we would be mindless drones. Remember, people are different, and will forever express themselves differently, regardless of whatever life experiences they have had.

If we were all the same, t'would be a boring place, no?

One more thing:

The entheogenic experience itself may be a universal thing, but there are infinitely many paths to reach it, and not all are through drugs. Each path will give each person a different outlook on what they have recieved, resulting in different thoughts, and different beliefs. Is Daoism any less valid of a way to reach the great world spirit than Buddhism? No, the end is the same, but the paths are quite different.

Well, yes - you make good points there. I believe that we all have an individual perspective, and that's important to all of us I think. Artist Alex Grey has a painting called "Collective Vision" in which the same bright light can be seen by millions of people but each person has a slightly different angle on the light. I agree with this to some extent.

I like what you said about "mock love." I understand you, perhaps, better because you said this. That is unusually blunt and seemingly honest. But with all that said, can't you come to the side that says, "If I have to be mocked knowing that all this is vain, why not choose mock lovin' instead of mock hatred."?

Mock isn't the right word. Its not real love, as in "I want to spend the rest of my life with you and raise several children between us." Perhaps like and dislike are better terms.

I did not mean any negative connotation with that statement, but couldn't think of any way to state "not fully" without it.

If you believe in loving everyone, then love us for wanting not to love.

Just lighten up. Condemning everyone with a blanket statement without trying to understand them is just as unenlightened as you are accusing us of being. There will be no end to what you have to learn in life, you are never done, and you should never think that you are any better than others because of what you have learned. Because, in the whole view of things, the difference between what you have learned and what others have learned is so small to be insignificant. We humans have so far to go to get anywhere.

Anyhow, I just hate the words "can't tolerate this behavior" because if Bush said that about something people were doing they'd flip out cause how dare he tell us how to live :wink:

The rules of OTD are posted at the top of the forum. As long as you can read these, I think the 'enlightened' thing to do would be to respect people's rights in relation to them, not to judge them or put yourself on a pedestal because you do not want to accept that portion of reality.
