Pictures of my Cactus: Need some advice.

ok here they are folks:

San Pedro's:




and a close-up picture of the Peyote (grafted on-top a Pedro):




now..will these all grow faster if i took them out of the pots and planted them in the ground?

or should i just leave um in the pots?

and the Pedro on the right has these damage spots on it, what is that from? over-watering maybe?
-the damage was originally black-colored then it faded to a whitish-yellow color..
-and both of the tall Pedro's has it.

and how long before my Peyote button gets pups?
-if you look closely there are little hairs starting to come out from the middle, is that a flower starting to form?

so many questions

The ground? Depends where you live, and what the winters like, but potentially, yeah. But I'd get them bigger pots. Especially that one on the right, it looks like it needs a repotting badly.

As for the scar, could've been physical damage. But you say it was black? Probably sunburn or bacteria? Anyone else?

As for the loph, I'd say you're still a bit off from flowers. But that hair you see will be the start of it's nice hairy tufts of puberty. :smile: That means its on it's way to being a flowering adult sexmaster button. :smile: Is it a diffusa or williamsii?

You will wait a few months before seeing new growth of pups. I would recommend the next time you use perskopsis. I am a cacti seller myself so if anyone is interested in pedro, peruvian torch, blue myrtle,cereus peruvian, and perskopsis please contact me.

I bet all those mofos are root bound as all get out.

note the other poster's point about temps.

nice plump button!

I'd get nice bit pots and fill with nan's mix or some
otherwise airy and neutral soil.

If you live in climate zone 3a or warmer (I think, this may be innacurate) and do not get freak frosts during the winter at all, then the pedro would be content in your soil. If your soil is low in degrading biomass, gets good drainage, and is somewhat loose, then they would love it in the ground. Pedros grow far better in the ground in a good climate than they otherwise would in a pot. They need a much bigger pot than those puny flowerpots though. I have at least one of mine in a big 25 gallon plastic planter with holes for drainage. It hasn't even had a month yet to acclimate to the transplant and yet the pup that was on it when I bought it has allready gone from a tiny nub to a big lump. It should start growing vertically soon.

Transplant those pedros, I sense they are unhappy.

i'll have to put them in the ground i think,
i live in a warm enough climate where the winters are mild and only frost on the ground a few days a year.

Is it a diffusa or williamsii?
that is a good question.
i got the Peyote from someone as a gift, ill have to ask them about that.

Yeah, zone 3a is way too cold. San Pedro needs at least zone 8b, so I've read.

The pedros look good to me, except for the skinny parts where it looks like they could have used more light. I would transplant the damaged pedro into the ground and other one into a bigger pot, and leave the loph graft alone.

I knew I was probably mistaken in that one.

I'll say it this way then: they'll do well in a mediterranean climate in a no-frost zone.

Intermittent rains and predominantly warm, dry weather would work out well.

a couple questions about the Peyote button:

how long is the flower going to be there?

is the flower going to produce seeds?

and how long before it starts to grow 'pups'?
