Irradiation in NJ mail facility

Exscuse double-post. I posted in spore exchange that its confirmed that a million piece on mail in NJ is being irradiated. Read the report in spore-ex.

I don't know how it works with syringes. But, i think if the spores(print) is on/in aluminum foil, it's safe. But, that's just my guess.

Spore prints on regular foil are not safe. Irradiation will go right throught the foil and kill the spores.Spore prints on lead foil would be safe.The lead would shield the spores from the radiation.

This is indeed very interesting.
The post office will have to have a way to seperate mail that customers do not want there mail sanitized. They cant just do it to all mail unless they feel there is a serious threat such as in the case of NJ and WA D.C. mail.
I can tell you right now the post office will not be irradiating all mail as that would cost them something like 6 BILLION a week from what I read.
I've asked my local postman everytime I go down there but they still have not been briefed on it and as far as they know they are not doing it here in the Phoenix valley anywhere.

I'm wondering if this lead foil will indeed prevent any small envelopes containing spores protect them.

last week, here in new jersey, they showed on the news, some of the first 100,000 pieces of mail that they irradiated. they were all bent and looked like they were washed, the plastic windows on some mail were melted, some you couldn't read the addresses anymore. i don't think they'll be radiating the mail on a large scale for quite some time.

Great news....
I think the twisted bastard who was sending them has quit anyway since all he has managed to do is kill innocent ppl instead of his intended victums.

Did they happen to show any boxes in those, or just letters?

no boxes, no large packages, or large envelopes. also the mail that they did irradiate had to be sent to a private facility. the post office doesn't even own any of these machines.
