Drying mushrooms in a drying cabinet?
    #4777221 -

Hello, currently I fan-dry my mushrooms. That takes time and a lot of space. I have access to some drying cabinets in my laundry room. Could I put them to use to dry my mushrooms? If I put the mushrooms in a pillow case and hang it in the cabinet. I also can adjust the heat between 30/60/90C(86/140/194F), Which temperature would you recommend?

if you can make a rack with shelves it would be more efficient, in a pillow case you've got a single pile, not very effective and those near the center may start to rot, as for temp, use the lowest you can for drying

yes, the pillowcase is not a good idea. low surface area and rot at center. shelves best as p1 says. Window screen rolls are cheap. use that shit with supports to make shelves. or wire shelves with window screen over it unless you have big mushies that wont fall through wire grid.

as for temp, lowest possible is probably best, but i personally think it wont make much of a difference since psilocin is unstable enough to be lost anyways and psilocybin withstands temps above 200 (boiling water, ie mushroom tea).

Agreed

Low Temp.
High Surface Area.

I've always just personally propped a box fan horizontally across two chairs, then set paper towel across to stop anything from getting sucked through. I have also used the racks from a food dehydrator on top of the box fan successfully too... After a couple days, toss into a desiccant chamber...
