On a serious not how would you guys advise someone to learn, I am going to go to the pawn shop and pick up a guitar...maybe today...Can I just pick it up and learn or will I need to get some lessons.

Lessons will only take you so far. I'd advise you just start fucking around.. learn some basic chords and scales, a couple favorite songs.. and go from there. The internet is your friend.
