I read the Organic Dark Rye Four is supposed to colonize faster.. I just got some of this, so im anxious to find out... You can probably get it at your local grocery store (Eagle, Cub Foods, Etc....) .. I got mine at Eagle..

i had heard that rye flour was better, but more recently i've heard the opposite. a post about this very subject was discussed recently, and the majority of folks said rye flour was not 'as good' as BRF.

i tried my own mini test, and the rye flour was much slower to colonize. granted, it's not a scientific test, but it was enough to convince me to stick with BRF.

From personal experience i found Rye to be slower to colonise, but yielded more...Substitute white millet for 90% of your brf and keep the other 10% brf and you'll be laughing!!!

so do you have to Pressure Cook the Dark Rye Flour or can you fill it in the jars and boil?...

I cant find brf... So dark rye flour is the best sub for brf?
