help with attachements

let me know if im ridiculous or not but,

when i make an attachment (mp3 file) people used to click on it and it would go to a webpage all its own and start playing automatically like quicktime i believe, and then you can right click save as it.

now when i do it you click on the attachement and it takes you to the forum index.

why is this?
