As if I'm not busy enough I picked up a volunteer position at a conservation area in the area. Its beautiful, with 2 rivers running through it, just in time for the salmon run So basically on Fridays I take kids on hikes and run educational programs, how sweet is that?

just a joke, the team was called " atletico de lavapies JR" lavapies is one of the worse areas in the center of madrid, use to be the place to get heroin, now almost everyone there is from africa, I like to live here, since being from and knowing everybody takes most of the risk off, but some people wont even step here.
is a multicultural place, music by randon african guys with drums at night , good ethnic food, people from many places,...
I like kid I wouldnt have been a bad coach, only I almost forgot how to kick the ball

I was thinking about volunteering at this methadone clinic 2 blocks away from me.
I bet I could get some mad connects from some of the patients.

when i lived in baltimore, they have a law you have to complete 70hr of community service to graduate high schhol. i did mine at a summer camp for second graders. at first i was pissed about having to do it. eventually i was looking forward to going. the kids were from low income familes and they really seemed to appreciate anyone paying them attention. plus im just a really big kid and i had fun with the water balloon fights, freeze tag, red rover, hide n seek. takes ya right back to the good ole days of being a kid

Sounds like a lot of fun! At least more fun than my voluteer job at the local homeless shelter. Nature hikes are infinitely more desirable than serving food and washing pots and pans.
Oh well, it's for a good cause, I suppose....
