US Annexation of Canada

What would be the ups and downs of taking over our neighbor to the north?
What kind of resources would be needed?
Would Canada have any allies in the battle?
Would you support such a movement? Why or why not?

It's almost not even worth it. Canada doesn't have much, and the communist pot-smokers up there would only bring the otherwise pure US down, diluted in socialism and insanity.

well we in canada have shitloads of national resources and space, plus a fair bit of pristene natural wilderness. Therefore, when your reckless and short sighted envrionmentall atrocities and unchecked consumerism destroy whats left of your country and make the air unbreathable, you can just start again in canada and repeat. its perfect, and an obvious solution. i would support it whole heartedly. as a canadian citizen i feel our resources would be better handeld in the care of george bush. Fuck animals, and fuck air. Yee- HAW!

I don't know why we'd do it.  Maybe because they'd be an easy pushover, and we could take their land and resources and use their citizens as slaves.  Don't much care why.  More interested in the how of it.

I would support it, just to see what happens. Maybe we could squeeze something useful out of Canada; exploit its forests and animals for more lumber and meat, etc. We could also redivert all the gas and oil going to Canada to the US, as Canadians will no longer have the right to drive cars until they submit to the US and apply for American citizenship (if we allow them to). This could help lower prices at the pump. Not to mention the fact we could stop the illegal activities that are tolerated across the border, and which are directly harming America.

I also doubt it would take that much energy to invade Canada, seeing as we have the entire border to launch an attack, have a very superior military and the Canadians aren't even armed because they oppose guns. How much easier could it get?
