Car salesmen: The reputation holds true
    #4675006 -

So, I'm looking for a car and this is my first time dealing with car salesman. I've been to 3 different car dealerships (Honda) and have had awful experiences. I mean, these guys really are sleazy. It's like I'm wasting their time being there or something, and they hardly have the patience to sit down and talk with me. It's either place an order now, or get out of our faces, we don't want to talk options. What happened to good service and people really giving a shit?

One time, a dealer called me in claiming that they had a hard to find model I was looking for. I drove 15 miles to the dealer, and he knew I was coming, yet he was busy with another customer when I arrived. Ended up sitting around an hour, and finally left. No phone call to apologize or anything. It goes on and on, there are more stories. I've never felt so mistreated in all my years a consumer. Why should I give my hard earned money to people who can't even pretend to respect me? Honda makes the best cars IMO, but so far their sales staff are very disappointing. Oh yeah, it's pretty sad when I know more about their cars model-to-model than a salesman does. Slap dicks.

Oh well, share your horror stories with car salesmen if you have any please, I really feel that I've been shit on through all of this.

I hear ya man..... last weekend a car salesman tried selling me a 1999 dodge neon for $14,000 I laughed in his face than left. He tried telling me that that was a special price just for me cause I looked like "good people"

Deal thru the phone only. Have an agreed price before you get there.this is how ive heard people get close to invoice prices.

I've never bought a car from a dealer. I've only bought used cars directly from people - just have my mechanic check them out first.

Yeah, I know a car salesman, he's such a dick.
He brags at the bar about how stupid some of his customers are, what a cock monkey.

I hate to bring it up but....

Do you look like you have money? I've gone to dealers and gotten completely different responses depending on how I was dressed/my appearance. As I've gotten older I've been treated better as well...
