flouro grown marijuana, DAY 31 UPDATE!
    #4634032 - 09/08/05 01:55 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

Well this plants grown up quick for the amount of time its been, i had it on 18/6 since the day it was put in the soil as a seed, and it was on 18/6 for 14 days. In this pic its day 4 of 12/12 and already its got budding started. It's only 18 days old! (pics taken yesterday)

Ill update this every week or so to show u its growth...

It's only under (1) 23W flouro, and (1) cool white 15" tube.

well let me know what you think.

UPDATE DAY 24!

^heres a beautiful chrystal clear photo of the top of this plant.^

As you can see there is lots of budding formations going on all up and down the stem. even if you cant see the hairs, I guarantee they are at every node.

there they are inside the growbox, its just an old toy box tipped on its side and lined with foil, the light hanging from the ceiling is clipped onto a screw i drilled in there. I just replaced the 23W coiled flouro with this new 25W flouro. the 23W flouro puts out 880 lumens, and this newer flouro puts out 1,750, almost doubling the lumens with only a 2W difference! Not many lumens compared to you bigtime growers, but im barely getting by at the moment and this is a fun experiment.

there she is all closed up.

comments?

EDIT: DAY 31!!!!!!

Well I just trimmed them so the lower buds can get more light. Im very impressed with the amount of trichomes its showing already from the very small amount of light its receiving.

as you can see its definately growing up...

well thats all I have of that plant, but there happends to be two plants in there cause one was going to a friend... Just found out hes in jail for a while, so ill probably be raising this second one too.

here some photos of it, it seems to be doing pretty well itself. both are the same age...

and check out this nugget...

ill update in a while or so... in the meanwhile... check out this piece of art i made with the trimmed fan leafs...

peace,
SoD

Looks to be around 6-8" tall... you'll probably get a couple grams out of her and that's if its a female... but she's definitely not budding yet. It usually takes about 2 weeks to see signs of flowering/sex, and another week or so for the buds to be very noticeable, on most strains.

I can assure you theres calyx's with hairs coming out of them, and chrystals all over them. It's only one plant. But I have two in there flowering right now, but I didnt show it cause its smaller, and im giving it to a friend soon. The soil in this one is composted horse manure, and i just fed it some nutes a few days ago at the start of 12/12.

the color of the tubes makes alot of difference.
in holland the colors used are phillips color 33 and 84.
im not sure what that translates to though.
im using those tubes for my carnivores and its working well.
also u might want to check out grolux aquarium tubes, there made especialy for plants.

anyways nice plants

Huh... that's a little quicker than average... Cool!  Is it any particular strain?  I'm not to familiar with the phillips color 84 and 33... I use a nice flourescent that's compact and puts out 6800 lumens which is twice that of the regular tube fluorescents.  They work very very well... check ebay for them if you want something brighter depending on how well she buds under a regular tube.  These are even cheaper than the tubes.

I just bought a 15" black light fixture, and replaced the blacklight bulb with a 15" greenhouse "cool white" tube. then i have one of those coiled 23W energy-saver flouro's... they work like a charm.

the strain is unknown, its a bagseed. but out of 31 seeds that I got from a friend who pulled them out of a large sack of mid grades, 29 have been female...

That's pretty good odds... do you know the things that contribute to females? It's temp, humidity, lighting cycle, and there's like one or two other things. I'll look it up and post back later if you're interested.

Hum if u use fluros u should get some T8 ballasts on ebay and get the high output lights. They are almost as efficiecent as metal halide systems. Check out my comparison on overgrow

well I dont even have barely any money for food, hence why im selling my ring in the marketplace... I own these two lights and its what im using to grow this one plant, and its just for fun and experimental purposes, but this plants growing FAST, and I'de like to see what the end result looks like. nice thread, very informative on saving on your energy bill. seems you know your shit when it comes to bulbs... but this is all I got, how much in weight(dry) do you think I will get out of it?

well U better veg them for awhile and U should top the plants too so they bush out instead of grow tall. Soon, cut the top growth off the plant, and leave about a 1/4 inch of growth up from the where the branches grow. It will grow like 4-5 off shoots instead of just the single one.

Hmmmm... my fluorescent light is 65w and puts out around 6800 lumens with a new bulb I got. I think that is better than any fluorescent you had listed at 104 lumens per watt, I found another bulb that is 65w and supposedly puts out 8200 lumens, still checking validity of product. And these things are a lot cheaper than the regular 4' tubes. It ranges from $14-$50 on ebay depending on how many you buy. You said your living situation is rough... it takes 6-8 weeks to completely flower... and longer for most sativas. I've had some sativas go 11 weeks before finished.

At their size... I'd say you might get 2 grams dried. The slower you let it dry the better and temps around 65-70 help keep potency during drying.

I have a few questions for you.

1.  How much odor does this give off when a) it's in the box, and b) outside the box?

2.  How are you keeping the plant from growing to normal height and it still budding?

3.  What types of nutes are you using; same for soil?

I have always wanted to grow my own bud, mainly for the sake of doing it and of course i'd use it too.  I have never felt completely comfortable, but maybe your grow can inspire me to just do it.  Any additional info you want to throw at me about your grow, feel free.  Thanks man.

Nice looking plants by the way.
