yeh, most civics get good city mpg. I think the 1.5L is somewhere around 33 in the city, my 1.6L v-tec gets around 32-33 mpg mixed highway/city... its been a lifesaver seeing how gas has been well over 3 a gallon here

If you boycott gas for 1 day, drive your car anyway and fill up the next, that has no effect on overall demand.

To help lower the price of gasoline and decrease American dependence on foreign oil, bike or ride the bus to work if possible and make sure your house is energy efficient.

Make these changes in your life permanent - this Sept. 10 shit is a only protest, not an effective action. Furthermore, it is a protest against nature, not against oil companies. Nature doesn't have a good record of responding to popular opinion.

While taxes contribute, the reason for high gas prices is supply and demand. Refineries can only refine so much oil, but the American appetite for gasoline is infinite. Furthermore, there's only so much oil in the ground, and only so much can be pumped out. As the Chinese buy more oil and the world's excess capacity diminishes, expect crude oil prices to soar past $100/barrel.
