Metal and Melody

Can anyone give me a few suggestions to some decent metal which include unique emotional melodys in thier music? Kinda like how Metallica (NOT INCLUDING ST. ANGER OR LOAD/RELOAD *cringe*), and Ozzy Osbourne did in most of thier music?
My best described examples of a melody:
"Master of Puppets" by Metallica; When the guitar riffs get fast... halts to a awsome solo melody... drums enter slowly.. riffs get faster again (last half of the track)
"Fade To Black" by Metallica; Pretty much the first half of the song.
"Dreamer" by Ozzy; slow song, but the guitar and piano combo sounded pretty shweet... i liked getting stoned while listining to this one...

How about some Black Label Society?
Zakk always has some good melody in his guitar work

"Solitude" by Black Sabbath
The whole song is soft but it fits surprisingly well between "Into the Void" and "Lord of this World"

Check out In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Children of Bodom and Soilwork. There is tons of melody in all these bands. Go for their older stuff though....listen to any In Flames album except Sound Track to Your Escape, but I'd say The Jester Race is one of their best. For Dark Tranquilty, check out "The Gallery." For Soilwork, check out Natural Born Chaos or A Predators Portrait. As for Children of Bodom, any of their releases are good, but I'd say Follow the Reaper is the best.
Keep in mind these guys have vocals a little bit more on the harsh side compared to Metallica or Ozzy.

Got to love, We Sold our Soul for Rock N' Roll. Paranoid is such a kickass album as well.

I remember I went and saw Amorphis back in March and they were opening for them. Apparently the singer and one of the guitarist had some crazy throat infection or something, so they came out as a three piece. I was surprised how well they managed to pull it off. They had so much energy when they were playing. They were far better then the other two bands that were there and they were down two people. I just thought it was kind of funny.
But yeah, they are pretty good.

You might want to look at the "Stoner Metal" genre, lots of Black Sabbath style groups. I think you might like "Corrosion of Conformity" or "Down".
I'll also second the suggestions of the guy who says you should check out In Flames and Soilwork. You might want to download some "Mastodon" while you're at it.
Enjoy!
