Ripping your stomach
    #4635805 - 09/08/05 11:43 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

is so hard to do. Strict diet, and regular exercise are a minimum... Anyone have a ripped 6 pack?

Well, I don't have a hardcore six pack but I do have muscle definition there. My "little finger" muscles (whatever those are) are pretty defined. My "V" (lower ab) that tapers down toward my massive penis has OK definition. My upper abs are noticeable but definately not "6-pack"-ish.

I have been doing ab shit, but not hardcore enough to get a body-builder 6-pack. It takes work, work, and more work.

I get the most satisfaction out of upper body stuff. That shit feels good and you see and feel results.

Leg exercises suck!!!

Which part of your stomach are you trying to rip up? I can suggest exercises for each part (I've read Ahnuld's body-building encyclopedia).

Well, keep in mind I am naturally 5'7 135 pds (I'm scrawny). I have been working out for about a month or so and I have put on about 9 pounds (I am at 144) which is damn fucking good for me. Read my "Randalflagg's self-improvement" thread in this forum for details.

Basically, I am more concerned about bulking up than I am with definition right now. That means I have to eat and eat and lift very heavy weights to make myself sore. That is the only way super skinny guys like me can gain weight. During this effort to gain all of this weight, you will inevitably gain some fat (I notice that I have a very tiny spare tire....I've never had one before). Once we pack on the pounds, then we can focus on getting rid of any fat and getting super ripped definition.

So, I started out only being able to bench 120 max. Now I can bench 185 max. I started out curling 25 pounds (on each individual arm) and that initially made me sore. Now I am curling 35 pounds and it doesn't make me sore. I am deadlifting over 200 pds. as well. I am a hell of a lot stronger than I was a month ago. My shoulders and arms are bigger.

Arnold says flat out that you should do ab shit everyday. Fuck...that gets difficult sometimes.

Oh shit...I miscalculated.  I have been working out six or so weeks, not four.  So my gains are not as impressive.

nah, but usually adding 60lbs to ur bench takes serious time... If I could add 60lbs I'd be over 300, man that would rock. Are you on anything?

Am I on anything? Hahaha, you mean like creatine or andro or...Dun Dun Duuunnnnn...steroids? Nope, you just need to eat a lot of food and beat the hell out of yourself to gain strength.

Dig up a video called 8 Minute Abs and Buns. They take you through a routine that works all of the ab muscles and you start to see result pretty quickly-in two weeks for only 8 minutes a day.

Of course, you can't have any fat hiding them. You still have to watch your diet and do something aerobic to keep the fat away.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WORK MY ABS?

"You can do ab excercises for injury prevention every day if you want," says Ian King, C.S.C.S., an Australian strength coach. But if you're looking to improve performance - that is, if you're trying to make your ab muscles bigger, stronger, or more powerful - you should leave at least a day between abdominal workouts."

I have a four-pack, myself. I guess I drank the other two. :smirk:

I'm in the same boat as randall now so my abs are covered by a little layer of fat, but I have a pretty nice 6 pack when i'm not trying to bulk up.

the basic secret to abs is that you cant just do crunched to get them. its all about fat % on ur bod. basically you have to eat right, work the ab muscles and do lots of cardio. genetics is also involved, some peope have natural 6-packs, the bastards.
