How bout it. If someone buys a Deepak book and feels bilked, thats their fault. I bought many and got more then my moneys worth.

Deepak isn't going to hand anyone the secrets of the Universe for $12.50.

Whoever expected him to is silly.

And yes, that compared to the embezzalors at Enron who stole peoples retirements so one of them could give his wife a $25,000,000. is reprehensible and I can't beleive you put Deepak, a book author, in the same leugue as Enron.

I know you mentioned something about Deepak plagerising some neuro scientist work. You never did a post a link on that.

It's not like the scientist was going to make money off that information or share it with the public or had a pantent for technology with it. Such information is made avaiable through medical journals for other neuro scientists to learn from.

If the scientists planned on profitting from it, why didn't he copy right it? If he did, he can sue Deepak and he would win. Either way, I'm glad peeps like Deepak get such information out to the general public.

I've tried to get on web-sites that post medical journals and you need a License to access them.

I want links of that accusation so I can research it on my own. It sounds like baloney and a weak case to me.

Yes I do. But I don't fear the bullshit surrounding the man.

I don't fear it either but it's getting harder over the years to pretend that the odor is sweet perfume.

Indeed, it is known as "catering to the lowest denominator", and it is rather responsible for the spread of ignorance and lack of spiritual substance in the world. Essentially, one's awareness of one's environment and one's ability to think critically in a intellectual, intuitive sense is going to get dimmer and dimmer as the standard that is cast for these people is lowered and lowered.

It's like, the more one is brought to utilize simple, basic thought patterns with lower awareness, the more the mind and its abilities as a whole will be reduced to such a level. It's like constantly smoking opium, I suspect, or perhaps it could be referred to as dumbing down.

Our evolution revolves around our constant drive to continue to become increasingly more aware and to understand more and more of our surroundings and that which is responsible for our experience and our being, in an effort to continue our survival, our right to experience and be, constantly developing a correct model of the mesh network reality we experience and are an aspect of. Catering to the lowest denominator and blurring the lines between reality and ignorance is more an aspect of devolution. :wink:

Look to the concepts instead of the man. Using death as an advisor, taking responsibility, not indulging, ect. Any one of these can put you over the top.

So reeves did nothing to raise awareness on Stem cell research? I didn't even know the U.S. had a ban on the research until I heard him talk about it.

Micheal J Fox did nothing to raise awareness on Parkinson's disease? I didn't even know what the fuck that was until I heard him talk about it.

Why would I need to know about such things? I personally don't know anyone with Parkinson's or who is paralyzed or in need of benefits that can come from the research. I came out of some ignorance because of people like them. I go curious and followed up with my own questions and research later on.

Say what you just did about the celebrities pushing for the legalization of marijuana. Their influence can create waves and it does and it's still a fact of society no matter how you want to label or judge it.

Of course, some like Ron Jeremy pushing penis enlargement pills is another story. He is paid to push rubbish.

celebs who get involved with government issues are volunteering their time towards a cause they believe in and are usually very highly educated about it before they go to speak.

So their are positive and bad celebs out their contributing to the information pool. Some contribute garbage and some don't. Name anything where the good doesn't have a bad flipside?

So FW, when or if you become a famous rock star and share your knowledge through your music and celebrity, should we begin ignoring you?

What do you mean by "no background"? I know a great deal about economics, despite having no formal training other than an entry-level college course. I'm not saying that Chopra necessarily knows what he's talking about, but it is possible to become quite knowledgeable about a subject without any formal background in it.
