It made sense to me. Why can't he say it?

If he says you will have happy molecules then that means the molecules are experiencing the emotion of happiness. What made you think a chemist was suppose to find an emotion in a molecule anyway?

Oh, and do you have a link for where Deepak said that a chemist can detect happiness in a molecule?

I listed the exact quote especially for you. Did you not read it? If it can't be detected, then he just made it up. This sort of fabrication is not science, it is technically called Bull Shit.

I read the quote.

I asked you for a link where he claimed science could back up detecting a happy emotion in a molecule.

If he didn't say THAT, then he was not falsifying scientific claims.

He is allowed to be a philosophical poetic.

All philosophy and poetry is bullshit. Doesn't mean we can't become inspired by it to feel good.

Perhaps Deepak isn't for everyone. He comes from a place of recognising unmanifest potential and the experiential. When you understand where he is coming from, all of his stuff makes sense. He has a philosophical and metaphorical approach and if one is cut from the same mold, they "get" him or shall I say, get from him.

I appreciate the insight I have been able to draw from him over the years.

To: The Skeptic

IMO the key to "testing" non-scientific ideas is to attempt to apply them to your life.

No effect? Ok, they don't work for you.

This is logical, not fluffy. True logic does not reject exploration, nor decline to use more than one tool for that exploration.

Why you reply that to me?

I test stuff out for myself. Keep what works, trash what I can't get to work.

You know I'm a Deepak fan!

OK, sounds good, but here are the facts: there is no limit to self-deception.

Case-in-point: Some half-billion Extenz pills have been sold to allegedly make the male member physically longer. This is an impossibility without surgery. Length is genetically predetermined and no herb can alter that. This is fact.

This and similar products are still selling like wild based upon erroneous anecdotes and good marketing hype.

Your premise that people can decide what works and what doesn't based simply on self-examination and/or feelings is in error.

This is merely one of limitless examples. Astrology also falls under this category.

Oh, maybe you were replying to my comment about philosophy and poetry being bullshit. I meant in the sense that it doesn't come out of a traditional chemistry lab.

It does come out of a persons personal explorations, curiousities, discoveries, and test in the experiential though.

People are walking, lvining breathing chemistry labs to me. Peoples natural sense to explore, discover, put things to the test and be curious make them natural scientists to me as well.

That's what Deepak is all about, "experiencing" unmanifest potential.

In this sense, the experience is all the proof one needs to be satisfied with the philosophy, metaphor or poetry.

Penis enlargement pills?  Is that the best you can do?  Sorry, you chose something scientifically measurable, therefore prone to being disproven using scientific methods.

How can you measure the validity of using your mind to affect your experience of life?  TRY IT!  Who knows, maybe your member will grow right along with you.

King of the Hill asked about Deepak in this post.

We have been asking you to post links to where Deepak made false scienfic claims.

We have been asking you for links as to where he teaches people how to levitate or even says he himself has.

This post is about Deepak Chopra, not astrology or penis enlargement.

Deepak doesn't teach astrology and he was a medical surgeon and would laugh at penis enlargement creams.

You can decide based on trial and error. Not everyone is prone to self deception. Those who are, are not truly using trial and error. You always go to the lowest common denominator to prove your point. I choose to go to the best and say that they can do it. But even then mistakes are part of the learning/growth curve. If you are truly using trial and error you will not stay lost for long.

Sorry, you chose something scientifically measurable, therefore prone to being disproven using scientific methods.

Here we are discussing a very specific desired result and yet huge numbers still convince themselves that something is working when it is not.

You and Jiggy are discussing something not at all specific, which makes one EVEN MORE susceptible to self delusion; not less, as you intimate.

Why does it matter if it is "self-delusion" or a subjectively measurable positive effect?

Swami, if one experiences results to their satisfaction then the goal has been met.

You either feel good or you don't. So what if you talked yourself into feeling better then actually do? It's a good thing.

Verities nor I advocate ignoring the self through self deceptive means. Neither does Deepak. To the contrary, it's about paying better attention to the body and giving it the attention it is asking for.

In Deepaks quantum healing book, he discusses his work with cancer patients. He has them treated at his Ayurvedic clinics AND by modern medicine.

He doesn't tell them to act as if they don't have cancer.

In his Ayurvedic practice, he teaches one to face and explore the self, not ignore it.

Not everyone is prone to self deception.
How can you be sure? Only billions of humans are.

Those who are, are not truly using trial and error.
OK, how do I test for a happy molecule?
