Please help! I found a mushroom the cap is yellow/orange the stem is close to the same. The gills are light tan. The spore print is tan. It blues very brightly (greens cuz the color). The cap, in older ones, starts to curve up and will hold a little bit of water like a cup.

Need a better description..as to where you found it...part of N. America...world, and what was it growing on? Also would be good to know the size, and what kind of a smell it had...then somebody could help you...maybe me even...so far sounds like a small Gymnopolis that I recently found...but I need more info. Cheers

Did they look like these?
or these
If they are then you have found yourself a Gymnopolis...but be warned Deadly Galerinas look similar, only the trained eyes and nose can tell them apart...should have yellowish flesh, and smell of woody/anise. If they are them...great find.

I live in WA state. That's where they came from. They look more like the top picture but they weren't growing out of trees. Where I found them was on a mountain that was replanted pines. Clear cut probably 5-8 years ago. There was a lot of other hard wood trees around the area. I can't see what the gills look like on the top picture. Do the mushrooms in both pictures blue very brightly? And also the stems are the same color as the cap. As far as the smell goes, I'm not sure how to describe it. Do gallerinas bruise blue because I heard that they bruise black is that true?

Actually I just found a pic on-line of a Gymnopilus Spectabilis. It looks exactly like the one I found.

Excellent!! Those are great shrooms...the two pics above are from the closely related G. junionus, and G. hybridus..both kind of green, like the spectabilis...and contain the goodies, I would love to see a picture of your find, by the reaction it sounds like it may be pretty potent. Cheers
