Bah, instrumentally speaking DMB had a few good albums in the ninties; Crash, and Under The Table And Dreaming. I agree that nowadays they are a little too commercial, but still, if I had the chance to go see Dave Matthews I definitely would. It's worth it to watch Carter Beauford drum alone.

I never liked Dave Matthews.. and especially not his fans.
But I was tripping nuts at Bonnaroo this year and walked past the main stage when he was playing.. and I gotta admit it was freaking awesome.
Granted, Robert Randolph joined them on stage so maybe that had something to do with it.

Why does it matter who comes out to see these shows? Just because your not a hippy and not into the whole jam band scene means you can't come out and see an artist who you enjoy listening too?
Cmon people...who cares who his fans are. Music is for everyone.

While I might agree with that sentiment on some level.. I must completely disagree. I don't mind "preppy" people, and I don't like to generalize.. but at Bonnaroo this year, compared to the last couple of years.. there was seemingly millions of "teenyboppers" and stuck up "preps" that came JUST to see DMB. I overheard some of them making fun of the other bands, and they brought some bad vibes to the scene overall. Now I didn't let that effect me really, but if you are going to go out to a 4-5 day hippy music festival, you don't go for one band.. and you especially do not go there and make fun of the hippy music and hippies that made that festival possible in the first place.
Music is for everyone but ignorant, arrogant, naieve jerks are not. I don't care who comes to a show. Bad vibes are bad vibes.
