I'm no authority on "faggots" lol but there was a rhyme from 1605 about Guy Fawkes's attempt at blowing up the houses of parliament in London which mentioned lighting faggots.

They also used to burn witches at the stake with faggots too so I highly doubt that the term originated from Nazi Germany.
